Our Autonomy Visualization and Mission Planning team is looking for an experienced Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our team. This is an onsite position located at one of the three facilities listed above. At Collins Aerospace, you will work on cutting edge technology and contribute to programs that save lives and enable the freedoms we enjoy.

What You Will Do

  • Drive technology advancement in a Java/Angular based visualization framework
  • Build reusable and custom user interfaces that provide an intuitive and modern experience with intentional design for adaptability and reuse
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for the visualization technology stack
  • Design and implement methods of composable and adaptable product lines and product builds
  • Maintain a backlog of work items in coordination with team/program leads
  • Collaborate with customer and user community to incorporate user feedback
  • Span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, flight test, and field support
  • Present to customers or stakeholders on software development progress and capabilities
  • Work on site as required for lab integration and team collaboration
  • Travel occasionally to support system integration and test, customer events, and related external activities

Qualifications

  • Must Have

  • Experience with designing and implementing a large-scale modularized, reusable product base that supports multiple products

  • Fluent in Angular, Java, OSGI; and able to perform and lead a technical team with minimal onboarding

  • Experience spanning software design, implementation, testing, and system integration of large systems

  • Experience working in or leading a software team, Scrum Master or similar

  • Experience with normalizing data from multiple sources for user display

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret clearance is required prior to start date

Qualifications

  • Preferred

  • Experience with Eclipse, Git, Visual Studio Code, Rational Team Concert, JIRA, Docker, Java, Angular

  • Experience with data adaptation and multiple system integration

  • Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Mission Planning, Electronic Warfare, Sensors

  • Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or related field

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $145,600 USD - $276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

  • Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
