Raytheon is seeking a well-qualified Principal System Security Engineer (P4) to join our Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team in developing solutions to protect the Warfighter's technology advantage. Systems Security Engineering creates holistic security solutions leveraging Cyber Security, Software Assurance and Supply Chain Risk Management to support Program Protection Implementation on embedded weapons systems. Join our highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments, which will directly contribute to protecting our nation and our Warfighters.

This is an onsite position at Raytheon in Fullerton, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the SSE team under the radar software maintenance contract
  • Interact with the customer to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts and effectiveness
  • Develop plans and estimates, task execution, project tracking, reporting and risk identification and mitigation plans
  • Lead the development of Risk Management Framework (RMF) documents for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation
  • Ensure compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) RMF security controls and National Security Agency (NSA) security requirements for radar
  • Consult and assist program management with SSE architecture and issues
  • Support the development of bids and proposals

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience in using and configuring Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems
  • Experience developing BASH, Python or Powershell scripts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows, Cisco operating systems including in depth hands on configuration, system hardening, kernel tuning and system internals
  • Experience in systems engineering, including any of the following: System Requirements definition and analysis, System Test and Analysis, Systems Engineering Studies, NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, stakeholders and customers in a team environment
  • Experience as a team leader or as a manager
  • Candidate must exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness
  • Experience with earned value management and cost account management
  • Strong proposal writing experience, with the ability to articulate security solutions in proposals and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses
  • Cyber Certifications in accordance with DoDD 8570/DoDD 8140 such as CISSP, GSLC, CEH
  • Ability to perform security testing and validation, including automated vulnerability scanning such as Nessus, STIG, Evaluate STIG and/or RADIX
  • Experience with leading scrum teams and using Jira

Salary Range: $118,300 USD - $224,900 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
