About the Role

If you're self-motivated and thrive working with multi-disciplined teams in a fast-paced collaborative team environment, this may be just the job for you! As an EH&S Principal Specialist with Raytheon's El Segundo, CA EH&S team, you'll bring to the table your solid experience administering EH&S plans, procedures and programs. In addition, you'll use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence internal and external groups including engineers, factory line employees and management.

This job is posted as ONSITE, and is based at Raytheon's El Segundo, CA facility.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the EH&S Manager, support and implement Safety and Environmental programs including, but not limited to, LOTO, Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, Contractor Safety, and Job Hazard Assessments
  • Monitor, administer, evaluate and coordinate company EH&S programs to ensure a safe workplace
  • Develop and advise employee workplace programs related to safety and environmental health
  • Coordinate confirmation of policies and programs in accordance with industry and government regulations
  • Collaborate across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of EH&S program implementation
  • Conduct regular site inspections for compliance with EH&S programs
  • Analysis of leading and lagging safety performance indicators for trends to drive corrective actions
  • Serve as EHS representative for assigned building and functional safety council
  • Conduct injury investigations and root cause analysis, develop corrective actions and track to completion
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement
  • Develop programs, processes and procedures to improve EH&S programs, culture for employees and contractors
  • Support the improvement of business and site EH&S communications plan
  • Support emergency response and enterprise preparedness programs
  • Provide instructor led training on various safety topics
  • Provide support for other site EH&S programs such as safety and environmental
  • Support the site to meet EH&S requirements for upcoming internal and external audits including Cal VPP, AS9100 and other internal company assessments
  • Interpretation of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI standards and regulations
  • May need to travel to support Enterprise and Raytheon initiatives

Qualifications

You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
  • Experience with either data analysis or root cause / corrective actions

We Prefer

  • Experience managing safety programs
  • Experienced conducting and/or developing creative EH&S training
  • Ability to handle potentially stressful situations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, but will not hesitate to seek additional information from supervisors or peers so tasks can be completed in a timely and accurate manner

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $95,500 USD - $181,700 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
