What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with program and factory customers to identify, develop, and define manufacturing automation and digital solutions
  • Support early 'New Product Introduction' activities including Design for Manufacturing engagements to shape Raytheon products and automation solutions
  • Continuous improvement, upgrades, and sustainment of deployed automation systems using core Automation skills including PLC programming, Robotics programming, Vision programming, HMI programming, SCADA development and controls upgrades
  • Collaborate with the factory to identify, development, and deploy process automation systems and digital solutions
  • Provide technical leadership through early project phases (ideation through project definition) and continued technical guidance after transition to the project execution team
  • Exposure and input to full I4.0 project lifecycle- from requirements generation to technical project management to execution & sustainment of automation projects

Required Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with industrial robots and programing PLC's
  • Experience with industrial vision systems
  • Experience with automation sustainment and troubleshooting, including knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings and schematics
  • Experience with automation cell lifecycle: scoping requirements and deploying new cells

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance
  • Experience with deploying complex IIOT based systems
  • Experience with Cognex and/or Keyence vision systems
  • Professional experience with the full life-cycle deployment and integration of automation systems (vision, robotics, servo, controls, etc.)
  • Ignition development experience
  • Python or other scripting experience
  • Data analysis experience
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of safety regulations (e.g. OSHA) and electrical compliances
  • Experience with control systems design (AutoCAD preferred)

Salary Range: $86,800 USD - $165,200 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
