General Summary:

Qualcomm is seeking a Staff Software Application Engineer to join our AI On-Prem Appliance team in Taiwan. In this role, you will work with highly motivated engineers and industrial leaders across the Asia region to design and develop Enterprise AI applications based on Qualcomm AI On-Prem Appliance Solution. The Qualcomm AI On-Prem Appliance Solution processes generative AI and computer vision workloads on a local, on-premises deployment, ensuring the highest level of security for your sensitive information. This hardware solution, combined with the powerful Qualcomm AI Inference Suite for On Prem, simplifies management while reducing costs and automating critical workflows

Key Responsibilities in this role:

• Deliver technical expertise on AI software systems through technical presentations to support business development and product demonstrations.

• Design and develop customer-specific requirements and assist in the commercialization and maintenance of Qualcomm products.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to address questions, issues, debugging, and troubleshooting related to software systems and applications.

• Gather customer insights and challenges, and regularly share them with product, engineering, and marketing teams to support roadmap improvement.

• Support customers in deploying and optimizing AI models on On-Prem Appliance using the Qualcomm AI SDK.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a closely related field

• Experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Python etc.

• Experience with using machine learning framework such as Py Torch

• Excellent communication and team working skills

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quickly learn new technologies and willingness to work with customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of server-related topics such as Thermal management and BMC/IPMI management

• Knowledge of Generative AI and Agentic AI related

• Knowledge of PCIE AI Card and troubleshooting

• Familiar with container management tools such as Docker

• Hands-on experience in deploying and optimizing AI model on edge devices

• Hands-on experience with open-source LLM inference and serving software such as vLLM.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience. OR
  Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
  OR
  PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

• 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
