General Summary:

Our NPU Software team builds full-stack features across host software and NPU firmware to enable efficient on-device AI inference. We are seeking ambitious, bright, and innovative engineers with hands-on experience delivering excellent quality embedded software solutions. The environment is fast-paced and requires cross-functional interaction with globally situated stakeholders, so good communication, planning and execution skills are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own feature level responsibilities including design, implementation, on-device validation and cross-collaboration with stakeholders.
• Address functional, stability, and quality issues in NPU software reported by QA, CE, BU engineering teams and customers.
• Define tasks and create work breakdown including estimation of effort.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and domain of activities is needed to address the immediate needs of the team.
• Work with various cross-site stakeholders to deliver commitments to meet different release milestones.
• Apply best software engineering practices.

Desirable Skills and Aptitudes

• Excellent C/C++/Python programming and software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design.
• Hands-on experience with C++ programming is a must-have skill.
• Professional work experience in embedded software, driver development, and/or systems engineering on So Cs using Linux/Android/QNX/etc.
• Ability to work independently, understand scope, plan implementation, and lead your own development effort.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and team player.
• Experience in implementation of on-device AI/ML software features and/or DSP/ NPU Kernel/Operator/Firmware development is a plus.
• Experience in on-device model inference is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/master’s in engineering, Machine learning/AI, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience with C++ and Python.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR
  Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  OR
  PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
