Job Overview

Voice AI is designed to deliver low-power wake-up, low-latency, and high-performance on-device voice technologies on Qualcomm platforms. These technologies include Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), and more, and can serve as front-end components for large language models (LLMs).

We are seeking a talented and motivated Voice AI Software Engineer to work on voice technologies for Snapdragon platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in either Android system development or AI model optimization. Candidates who possess both skill sets will be given priority.

Required Skills/Experience

Candidate should meet at least one of the following:

Profile A: Android System Development

• Strong programming and debugging skills in Python, C++, or Java.
• Hands-on experience in software design and development on Android platform.
• Excellent programming and debugging skills on Android platform.
• Deep understanding of Android platform internals and voice/audio system architecture
• Excellent problem analysis and solving ability, with experience in analyzing system stability or performance issues.

Profile B: Model Optimization

• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as Tensor Flow, Py Torch, or Keras.
• Experience and knowledge of machine learning model optimization and acceleration, such as quantization and pruning.
• Familiarity with profiling and evaluating machine learning model performance
• Experience deploying AI models on embedded or mobile hardware platforms
• It would be an advantage to have knowledge of LLMs and architectures like Transformer, Transducer, etc.

Other Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate across a globally diverse team.
• Fast learner with high motivation and a team-oriented mindset
• It would be an advantage to have experience in voice technologies such as ASR, TTS, or NLU
• It would be an advantage to familiar with Qualcomm’s AI stack (e.g., SNPE, QNN, AIMET)

Responsibilities

• Candidate is expected to take on one of following key responsibilities (both preferred but not required):Design, Develop, maintain Voice AI architecture/software on Android.
• Optimize Voice AI related models to ensure efficient performance and scalability, deploy them on Qualcomm’s computation hardware.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI solutions into product environments.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance AI capabilities.
• Provide technical support to customer requirements and release version.
• Document and share knowledge with the team.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering with 4+ years’ experience, or Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering with 2+ years’ experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR
  Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  OR
  PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
