General Summary:
Looking for an energetic and enthusiastic engineer for a position in Modem power R&D team, where we study the modem power use cases ,measure the subsystem level power consumption and study the potential optimization in the system. The candidate will be mostly working on Power verification and do the power correlation at use case level, against the chipset projections. The position also demands to study the competitive devices and to do the Rail Break Down analysis to understand the competition behavior in the modem use cases
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. -
2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Academics :
o Staff Eng: MS/MTech in Wireless Communications(ECE) and 10 year relevant experience or Btech in ECE and 12+ year relevant experience in wireless industry.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
-
Should have work experience in Tier#1 telecom companies (preferably qualcomm/mediatek/nokia/apple/Ericson/Samsung/Huawei /Intel
-
should have at least 8+ years of work experience preferably in NR or LTE UE Testing and mostly preferably Protocol conformance testing
-
SOUND Knowledge on OFDM symbol processing in PDCCH/PDSCH/PUCCH/PUSCH channel
-
Sound knowledge in TDS/CSIRS/DMRS Refence signal processing at protocol level
-
Sound knowledge in NR and LTE: Physical/RRC layers and Call Processing.

Excellent 5G protocol understanding on RRC/PHY. Especially 3GPP TS 38.200 series (specifically TS 38.211 through 38.215) OR 3GPP TS 36.211-36.216,

Excellent understanding in 3GPP TS 38.331 or 3GPP TS 36.331 plus

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong debugging experience and log analysis

Working Experience in RF interfaces, RF front end, and layer 1 procedures is preferrable.

Excellent Communication skills, effective team player, ability to work independently.

Work experience on QCOM tools beneficial but not mandatory

Scripting in python or any other scripting language is value addition

Leading a team with min of 3-4members is plus(not mandatory)
Responsibilities:
· As part of WRDs Modem Org, candidate will work on Next Generation Wireless Technologies (5G NR and LTE Advanced), critical modem stack software, firmware and hardware features from UE perspective as well as network protocol side, to investigate, analyze and optimize system for Power and Thermal characteristics, keeping a close eye on performance KPIs.
· Responsibilities will also include system level feature integration and evaluation, designing system level verification content across a cross section of modem features, optimizing system performance and evaluating for power cost, developing automation and tools, and supporting customer (OEMs and Carrier) requirements for product commercialization.
· Analyze & Debug issues for power optimization features and study the impact on stability and performance while preserving the delicate equilibrium between power and performance.
· Candidate will be working with a multi-discipline team (Software Development, System Design, Chipset Architecture, Customer Support, Tools, etc.) to integrate, verify and commercialize QCT products. Candidate will be responsible for triaging issues, raising bug tracking tickets and driving closure of those issues to meet requirements.
· Create prototype software & systems requirements as proof of concept of modem power optimization features
· Design and deploy some of the new advanced ML techniques to enable smart analysis and data learning
