General Summary:

Senior Accountant – This role is responsible for accurate revenue recognition, billing, accounts receivable, and compliance with complex contractual and channel-based revenue models. The position plays a critical role in supporting monthly close, audits, and scalable finance operations in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

General Responsibilities: -

  • Manage end-to-end O2C accounting for direct customers, distributors, and channel partners, including order review, invoicing, cash application, credit/debit memos, and AR reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate billing for high-volume, low-margin transactions, including EDI-based invoicing and automated billing processes.
  • Account for complex commercial terms such as price protection, ship-and-debit, stock rotation, rebates, returns, and distributor chargebacks.
  • Maintain strong sub-ledger to GL integrity and compliance with SOX/internal controls.
  • Apply revenue recognition guidance under ASC 606 / IFRS 15.
  • Review customer and distributor agreements to assess:Performance obligations
  • Variable consideration (rebates, incentives, price adjustments)
  • Revenue timing and transfer of control
  • Account for contract assets, deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and channel inventory-related reserves.
  • Support revenue accounting for NRE (Non-Recurring Engineering), licensing, royalties, and long-term supply agreements, where applicable.
  • Prepare revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and roll-forwards.
  • Lead O2C and revenue close activities, ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis for AR, deferred revenue, and other revenue-related accounts.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries related to revenue and AR.

AI & Automation Focus Areas

  • Proactively identify process improvements and contribute to greater operational efficiency.
  • Design and implement RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and AI-based workflow solutions to streamline and innovate repetitive or redundant tasks.
  • Leverage AI tools and Microsoft Copilot to analyze payment trends, detect anomalies, and escalate issues to leadership teams.
  • Utilize Copilot and other AI platforms to interpret financial data for deeper business insights and informed decision-making.

Skillset required: -

  • Qualified CA/CPA with min 4 years of relevant experience in accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Deep attention to detail with the ability to manage complexity and scale.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with data analysis tools is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience.

Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
