General Summary:

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate engineer with strong expertise in ISP architecture and tone mapping algorithms to join our Camera Systems team. This team develops embedded imaging solutions for Snapdragon chipsets, enabling advanced mobile photography and video experiences. Our work spans dedicated ISP hardware, multi-core processors, DSP, and GPU cores to deliver cutting-edge image quality and computational photography features.

As a Tone Mapping & ISP Design Engineer, you will design tone mapping algorithms for HDR imaging and integrate them into ISP pipelines, balancing image quality with power, memory, and silicon constraints. You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to deliver optimized solutions for mobile, automotive, and IoT cameras.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ISP System Design & Integration

Define ISP architecture and pipeline stages for tone mapping and related IQ features.

Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure efficient implementation under power and area constraints.

  • Tone Mapping Algorithm Development

Design advanced tone mapping algorithms for HDR in different light conditions.

Optimize tone reproduction for natural color and contrast across diverse lighting conditions.

  • Image Quality (IQ) Evaluation & Optimization

Perform end-to-end IQ evaluation focusing on tone/exposure, color balance, and visual artifacts.

Tune tone mapping and ISP parameters for mobile, automotive, and IoT camera systems.

  • Machine Learning Integration

Explore ML-based tone mapping and integrate into ISP pipeline for next-gen imaging.

  • Customer Support & Commercialization

Support OEM partners with tone mapping and ISP tuning, delivering production-ready solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years working experiences in some of the following areas:

· 3+ years of experience in image signal processing, tone mapping, HDR, or ISP pipeline design.

· Strong knowledge of image quality evaluation methodologies and metrics.

· Proficiency in C/C++, and scripting languages such as Python or Matlab.

· Familiarity with camera and computer vision technologies.

· Experience with multi-camera systems and HDR fusion techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Candidates should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with strong coding background

· Track record of driving ideas from design through commercialization

· Excellent knowledge of C++, capability to design and implement robust, high-performance and flexible system software

· Experience in integrating machine learning algorithm into camera systems.

Education Requirements:

· Master or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR
    Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
    OR
    PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
