General Summary:

The Camera Image Quality Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of image quality evaluation systems to measure Image Quality (IQ) metrics for Mobile, Automotive, IoT, XR, and Compute Cameras. The role involves both objective and subjective IQ evaluations, including aspects such as color, white balance, texture, noise, details, bokeh, tone/exposure, resolution, and subjective artifacts.

• Design and development of camera image processing pipeline for Mobile/Automotive/XR /AR/Compute use cases

• Implementing algorithms on the target hardware and provide optimization to meet requirements in terms of Image quality , power, latency

• Evaluating ISP hardware and software modules, finding the best-optimized tuning interfaces

• Deeper investigation into existing modules and coming up with interfaces that could simplify the tuning.

• Identify and improve existing algorithms for better user experience

• Image Quality metric development for mobile/XR/AR devices.

• Strong understanding of Camera fundamentals, 3A Algorithms, ISP modules, Optics, and Color Science.

• 3A + ISP image quality tuning to achieve desired Image Quality.

• Debugging and troubleshooting existing software and Image Quality issues.

• Partnering with global development teams and external customers

• Development of Computer Vision ( CV ) and Machine Learning (ML) features

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6 -15 years of experience in multimedia/embedded technologies

• Solid knowledge of Digital/image processing.

• Working experience with image processing algorithms. Background in color science and image signal processor pipelines is a plus.

• Working experience in Image or Video Quality metrics development, Algorithm optimizations.

• Knowledge/working experience in computer vision algorithms

• Exposure or working experience in Camera, Video or Multimedia accelerators

• Background in machine learning and working experience with machine learning framework/packages (e.g, Tensor Flow, Keras, Py Torch etc.)

• Experienced working with real time/embedded systems is a plus

• Experienced in development of driver and frameworks for multimedia systems including camera, audio, video, display and graphics is a plus

• Programming skills in C/C++, MATLAB, Python

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of and experience in Camera Image Quality tuning.

• Experience in Linux camera sensor driver bring-up.

• Knowledge/Experience of 3A algorithms and Image Signal Processor (Camera Hardware) tuning experience.

• Experience with Objective Image Quality evaluation metric using tools like IMATEST, IQ Analyzer, etc. is a plus.

• Experience working in an Imaging Lab with various Test charts and lighting setups.

• Working experience with image/camera/Signal processing algorithms.

• Working experience with Android/Linux Camera/Embedded systems.

Education Requirements:

• Required: Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.

• Preferred: Master degree/PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering /Electronics.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR
  Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
  OR
  PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
