General Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Support Engineer to join our team. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth operation of our lab environment through equipment installation, maintenance, and technical support. The ideal candidate will assist in executing tests, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain lab equipment, ensuring devices run the latest software versions.
• Provide technical support to lab users and troubleshoot device or test equipment issues.
• Execute tests and accurately document results.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and manage procurement needs.
• Coordinate with suppliers and assist in building lab test infrastructure.
• Manage lab inventory and ensure availability of necessary supplies.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and keep the lab clean and organized.
• Perform tasks requiring ladders and lifting equipment (3–4 kg).
• Support data capture for computer vision research.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience. OR
  Associate's degree and 5+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  OR
  High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with motion capture systems, robotic arms, Android/embedded devices, or XR devices.
• Familiarity with lab management software and tools.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in lab environments.
• Experience with testing equipment, Android/embedded devices, and software tools.
• Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$47.70 - $71.54

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
