General Summary:

The individual in this role will be part of Qualcomm's System VI and Emulation Team and will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and supporting Qualcomm’s Pre-Silicon FPGA-based emulation platforms. Support tickets raised by users of these platforms will have to be resolved by the individual – either on their own or in collaboration with adjacent functions (IT, Emulation, VI or Software teams.) Individuals will work on multiple tickets at any point of time, so, systematic tracking and updating of status is expected. The environment is fast-paced and requires cross-functional interaction daily. Good communication, planning, and execution skills are a must.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience. OR
  Associate's degree and 5+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  OR
  High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Demonstrated project leadership experience, with the ability to drive technical initiatives and collaborate across teams.

• Strong capability to interpret schematics, BOMs, and engineering drawings for hardware understanding and troubleshooting.

• Proficient in debugging hardware issues, creating detailed board-level rework instructions, and validating completed rework.

• Hands-on experience using JTAG debuggers, Aardvark interfaces,Xilinx tools and other programming and diagnostic tools.

• Solid working knowledge of Windows and Linux environments

, including: Managing Virtual Machines

• Working with IT to resolve network and infrastructure issues

• Imaging, configuring, and troubleshooting PCs

• Understanding of IT networking, OS deployment, and endpoint debugging (essential)

• Experience in technical LAB supportroles, in electronic hardware industry, with familiarity using ticketing/tracking systems such as JIRA (preferred).

• Expectation is that the individual will do hands-on work as well as mentor and lead junior support engineers in this role

• Ability to coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders—including Hardware, Software, Firmware, and Test teams—to support procurement, lab setup, and build/test infrastructure.

• Provide Debug support to lab users and internal teams, efficiently resolving complex hardware, software, and test-related issues.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary, multi-site teams.

• Hands-on experience operating test and measurement equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.

• Knowledge of factory test processes, including workflow understanding, test planning, and validation activities.

• Familiarity with Inventory management and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures to maintain lab safety, compliance, and asset accuracy.

Educational Qualification:Diploma E&C with 15 to 17 years with relevant experience
Engineer E&C with 10 to 12 years may be considered if prior experience is in similar role
