Overview

The Sr. Manager, Monitoring & Observability will play a key role in the engineering and management of monitoring & observability capabilities across PVH IT landscape and automated remediation solutions. They will work with business partners to understand requirements to provide robust solutions. This position is global in scope and requires a customer service focus. The Sr. Manager is responsible for enterprise monitoring & observability engineering capabilities which includes planning, installation, maintenance, configuration, performance tuning, recommendations, documentation, and supporting the Enterprise Monitoring & Observability software/hardware. This role will provide technical direction with the design, process improvements, planning, operation, service, maintenance, evaluation and testing in a multi-user information systems environment.

The Sr. Manager duties include: systems/utility/vulnerability monitoring & observability, software/hardware evaluation, recommends/evaluates system hardware and software service packs, release levels, configurations etc., evaluates log reports and makes/completes recommendations based on these reports, technical staff training, technical software/hardware documentation and day-to-day direction and assistance of the enterprise IT monitoring capabilities, including application, infrastructure, Layer 3 networking, virtualization, Storage, systems administration for On-Prem, Cloud and Hybrid platform support. Their duties also include leading Enterprise Monitoring & Observability standards, implementing proactive management mechanisms/systems/policy and procedures. This role would provide recommendations to executives on system evaluations/testing and report findings. This role will also have experience developing and deploying modern fault/performance/capacity alarm management systems and work with event correlation platforms for large organizations.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Plan, engineer and implement robust and cost-effective IT monitoring & observability capabilities, using new technologies. In coordination with business partners, design, engineer and deliver technology solutions across all production and pre-production environments.
  • Identify areas where existing capabilities and processes require change and where new ones need to be developed to meet future business demands
  • Generate, assess and improve alerting with a focus on proactive alerting and self-healing.
  • Build service management & event correlation to transition from isolated alerts to predictive service impact analysis.
  • Partner with operations teams including strategic partners to design and implement integrations among various processes and tools, which will include detailed rules and procedures for identifying and resolving incidents related to the area of responsibility
  • Drive a high standard of quality and consistency across the monitoring environment by maintaining and improving the standards within the team and by supporting good practice
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation as it relates to monitoring & observability configuration, mapping, processes and service records
  • Conduct research on monitoring & observability products, services and standards to remain abreast of developments in the monitoring and enterprise tools space

Qualifications & Experience

  • Eight to ten years of experience in design and implementation of global, multi-platform enterprise monitoring & observability solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems
  • Proven understanding of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.) to automate tasks and analyze data
  • Proficiency in REST API and JSON usage as well as Web services
  • Understanding of commercial and open source monitoring & observability tools such as SCOM, APM tools, log management tools and Manager of Managers (MoM)
  • Experience with SQL, ability to write SQL queries to efficiently extract data from relational databases
  • In-depth knowledge of Architecture, technical solutions, and project management methodologies

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Enterprise Architecture, Information Systems, or related field is required.

  • Flexibility to work with global teams during their respective time zone

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel

  • Domestic Minimal (1–10%) – Occasional travel, a few times a year.
  • International Minimal (1–10%) – Occasional travel, a few times a year.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range

$121,400—$164,300

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not-limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
