The Role

Proofpoint is looking for a skilled and curious Frontend Software Engineer to join our Account Takeover Protection product team. On this team you will help mitigate account takeover attacks on our customers for cloud applications like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and more.

You'll own frontend projects with moderate to high complexity, designing cutting-edge interfaces that Fortune 500 customers use to protect their people and assets. You'll consistently produce high-quality, maintainable code while proactively addressing technical debt and advocating for best practices. This role requires strong technical expertise in frontend systems, the ability to work independently on complex tasks, and the influence to shape team decisions through thoughtful contributions. You'll design solutions with scalability, reliability, and maintainability in mind while working closely with product and UX teams to translate customer needs into technical deliverables that meet or exceed expectations.

Your day-to-day

  • Work in an extremely fast-paced, collaborative team-first, and challenging environment with a focus on driving best practices across the organization.

  • Design, code, review, test and deploy software features in our application stack.

  • Prototype, evaluate, and iterate on software solutions to hard problems

  • Work closely with product and UX to bring the best solution to market.

  • Collaborate across teams and follow Agile environment like Scrum, Kanban, etc.

  • Continually deploy & test your work, learn new techniques and technologies as a result of peer review and mentorship; share what you have learned with your peers

What you bring to the team

  • Must have experience developing software in a high-uptime customer-focused environment, ideally around five years of experience.

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school in an engineering related field.

  • Must have knowledge of modern patterns for how frontend systems interact with backend code

  • Experience with HTML5, CSS, modern JavaScript, ReactJS preferred; other technologies including but not limited to Typescript, Angular and NodeJS will be considered.

  • Familiarity with frontend testing using tools like Cypress or Playwright, and visual regression tools is desired.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge, experience, or interest in how frontend applications are built is valued; including but not limited to understanding of micro frontend architecture and/or monorepos.

  • The ideal candidate will have passion, curiosity, integrity, and outstanding attention to detail while performing tasks
