Job Description
The **IT Operations Manager (SRE)**is a hybrid leadership and engineering role responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of one or more Fabric & Home sector wide manufacturing digital applications supporting manufacturing outcomes.
**The role applies Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)**principles to move operations from reactive support to proactive, insight‑driven reliability, embedding operational needs early in application design to reduce production disruption and enable increasingly touchless, autonomous operations.

Scope

Owns end‑to‑end operational reliability for one or multiple sector scaled applications across environments.

Partners with product owners, engineers, sites, and service providers to mature observability, prevent incidents, and improve MTTR.

Core Responsibilities

Own availability, performance, resilience, and operational readiness of assigned applications.
-
Establish and improve SLO/SLI/SLA‑aligned operational practices, including Day‑1 readiness for go‑lives and Po Cs.

Drive proactive incident management, hands‑on resolution when needed, and structured problem elimination to avoid recurrence.
-
Build and mature end‑to‑end observability (monitoring, telemetry, alerts, runbooks) across integrated systems.
-
Lead automation and self‑healing initiatives to reduce manual toil and support touchless operations.

Influence application design to ensure operability by design (monitoring hooks, safe deployments, rollback readiness).

Act as a reliability leader and translator, enabling effective communication across sites, product teams, engineers, and vendors
Job Qualifications
-
Experience owning operations for digital products/services, including incident response, problem management, and continuous improvement.

Demonstrated breadth across at least two IT areas (e.g., application operations + platform/infra, or automation + monitoring)

Working knowledge of reliability practices (SLO/SLI/SLA alignment) and operational readiness for go-lives/Po Cs.

Observability mindset: monitoring strategies, alert quality, telemetry-driven troubleshooting.

Automation orientation: scripting/tooling, repeatable ops patterns, reducing toil.

Strong communication and influence skills to align developers, sites, and partners around reliability outcomes.
