Responsibilities Lead Data Governance Role at Principal Financial Group Are you ready to lead our data governance efforts and guide responsible AI practices?

As the Lead Data Governance at Principal Financial Group, you will assess AI and advanced analytics use cases using ERAI frameworks, compliance standards, and ethical guidelines.

This role offers an opportunity to improve processes, methodologies, and tools that keep our data-driven solutions flawless and world-class.

Job Responsibilities Lead evaluations of AI and advanced analytics use cases in relation to ERAI frameworks, compliance standards, and ethical guidelines.

Evaluate risks related to bias, fairness, transparency, accountability, privacy, security, and societal impact.

Review and interpret technical documentation, solution builds, and implementation details from a risk and governance perspective.

Provide structured feedback to collaborators, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.

Support the continuous refinement of ERAI assessment processes, methodologies, and tools.

Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to align evaluations with enterprise policies.

Mentor and support knowledge transfer within the ERAI team.

Serve as a reliable consultant to internal committees and governance forums regarding responsible AI practices.

Qualifications Job Requirements 7+ years of experience in evaluating advanced technology or data-driven solutions with a focus on risk, compliance, or governance.

Demonstrated experience reviewing technical/business documentation and translating it into structured assessments.

Strong understanding of regulatory and legal considerations surrounding AI and data use.

Proven ability to assess ethical implications of AI-enabled solutions.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders Hands-on experience in ethical AI development or deployment (e.g., building solutions with embedded fairness, transparency, or accountability safeguards).

Exposure to industry frameworks for responsible AI (e.g.: NIST AI RMF).
