As a Cloud Engineer you will analyze, design, implement, and manage PPG's Alibaba cloud environment and supporting infrastructure. You will exist within the Cloud Architecture/Services team within PPG's Cloud Center of Excellence, focused on driving PPG's Cloud Only strategy and cloud native solution architectures. You will support PPG's Corporate Functions and SBU worldwide. You will work effectively with cross-functional teams of IT professionals to architect, implement, and support enterprise cloud landing zones and business solutions. You will use various support, performance monitoring, and tuning tools to solve problems and make recommendations to internal customers. You will collaborate across multiple Digital IT teams, lead projects, and guide technical direction on cloud governance and solution architecture alongside internal teams to meet PPG's business goals. You will be reporting to IT Infrastructure Manager.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review and design cloud solution architectures and deliver solutions that meet business and IT needs.

• Lead projects to continuously improve standards related to architecture, governance, and security of public cloud environments.

• Oversee and continuously enhance PPG's Alibaba Cloud platform, including core IT infrastructure shared services, by implementing self-service capabilities and automating resource deployment.

• Optimize the cost of cloud solutions through rightsizing, waste-finding, automation, and reserved instances.

• Collaborate with cloud architects, security architects, and frontline IT teams to ensure cloud security and regulatory compliance.

• Demonstrate a passion for learning, keeping up to date on technical advancements, and industry trends.

• Promote the use of cloud technologies across the IT organization alongside fellow engineers, change management, and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, information technology and management, or 5+ years of proven experience in cloud engineering or equivalent field.

• At least three years of experience working within Aliyun or Alibaba Cloud Console. Certifications.

• Working experience with a broad set of enterprise domains is preferred including security, infrastructure, development, and data analytics.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

• Familiarity with cloud automation tools (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, Ansible) or scripting languages (Powershell, Python, Bash).

• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

• Experience automating cloud operations and management

• The ability to speak Mandarin

• Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and multi-cloud strategies.

• Experience with container technologies or managing IaaS in cloud environments.

• Solid understanding of Alibaba cloud networking includes experience with Alibaba VPCs, firewalls, app gateways, and DNS.

• Experience with Alibaba Policy and principle of least privilege via IAM.

• Knowledge of cloud security best practice and automation of security controls.
