About the Role:

We are seeking a mission-driven Senior Product Manager for the "Solutions Crafting" pod within the Solution Enablement Group. While Planet collects the world's most frequent data, our customers need answers, not just pixels.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between Planet’s platform capabilities and specific customer outcomes. With a relentless customer-centric mindset, you will identify high-value market problems first, then work hand-in-hand with Engineering to decompose them into scalable, reusable technical building blocks combining into solutions. You will ensure we prioritize opportunities with significant market size, moving Planet from selling raw data to selling measurable value in key verticals like Defense & Intelligence, Civil Government and Commercial.

This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Berlin Office, Graz Office, Haarlem Office, or Ljubljana Office office 3 days per week.

Impact You’ll Own:

• Strategy & Discovery: Lead customer discovery and feasibility studies to validate high-value use cases in Civ Gov, Commercial, and D&I, ensuring all development is anchored in addressable market needs.

• Technical Translation: Partner deeply with Engineering and Data Science to decompose complex vertical requirements into detailed technical specifications, user stories, and prioritized backlog items.

• Agile Execution: Act as the primary Engineering liaison for the pod, managing sprint planning and backlog grooming to balance feature delivery with technical debt management.

• Solution Building Blocks: Define and deliver reusable "building blocks" within the Planet Platform that allow us to scale solutions across multiple customers rather than building one-offs.

• Commercial Enablement: Collaborate with Product Marketing and Sales to package technical capabilities into clear business narratives that demonstrate ROI to non-technical buyers.

• Ecosystem Growth: Build relationships with external partners and government agencies to identify opportunities for collaboration and scale.

What You Bring:

• 6+ years of experience in product management, ideally within Earth Observation or geospatial analytics.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

• Experience launching "solution" products (bundles of data, analytics, and services) rather than just standalone features.

• Ability to translate complex vertical needs into clear engineering tasks and user outcomes.

• Solid understanding of vertical market dynamics (e.g., government procurement, supply chains) and experience assessing market size/viability.

• Managing end-to-end product lifecycles and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments.

What Makes You Stand Out:

• Experience with Earth Observation (EO) data or heavy analytical data streams.

• A background in "Solution Engineering" or "Technical Consulting" prior to Product Management.
