ROLE SUMMARY

The Cloud Engineer plays a key role within the Cloud Engineering organization, contributing to the design, implementation, and automation of secure, scalable, and modern cloud platforms. This role supports multicloud engineering initiatives and helps deliver reliable, well architected solutions that enable product teams across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate has hands-on cloud engineering experience, strong Infrastructure as Code proficiency, and a passion for automation, cloud native technologies, and continuous improvement.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESCloud Engineering & Architecture

  • Implement and enhance cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP following established engineering patterns and standards.

  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Open Tofu, or similar tools.

  • Contribute to development of reusable cloud modules, patterns, and reference architectures.

  • Assist in designing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments aligned to enterprise best practices.

Platform Automation & Tooling

  • Develop and maintain automation workflows using Python or other scripting languages.

  • Support CI/CD and IaC automation using platforms such as Spacelift, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.

  • Participate in improving configuration consistency, reducing drift, and enhancing deployment reliability.

Security, Compliance & Operations

  • Implement guardrails, policies, and controls to ensure secure and compliant cloud platforms.

  • Monitor system health, reliability, and performance using cloud native and third-party observability tools.

  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and collaborate with senior engineers on root cause analysis.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work with application teams, SRE, security, and architecture groups to deliver end to end cloud solutions.

  • Contribute to platform modernization initiatives, identifying opportunities to automate, optimize, or simplify.

  • Share knowledge, documentation, and best practices to uplift engineering maturity across the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.

  • 3 years of hands-on cloud engineering or platform engineering experience.

  • Proficiency in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform preferred).

  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python strongly preferred).

  • Solid understanding of networking, identity, security fundamentals, and cloud native services.

  • Ability to collaborate in global, cross functional engineering environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multicloud familiarity (AWS Azure or GCP).

  • Experience with Spacelift, Open Tofu, or similar IaC automation platforms.

  • Exposure to developing reusable IaC modules or patterns.

  • Experience with cloud security controls, compliance frameworks, or Fin Ops concepts.

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, or GKE).

  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Associate or Professional, Azure Administrator/Architect, GCP Professional Engineer).

  • Curious, self driven, and committed to continuous skill development.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Works well in both independent and collaborative settings.

  • Comfortable contributing to architectural discussions and proposing improvements.

  • Customer focused mindset with strong communication abilities.
