Job Summary:
This role leads the strategy, architecture, and execution of core capabilities within the PayPal Complete Payments Platform (PPCP) as a senior people leader. The Sr Director manages and develops product leaders while driving technical vision and multi-year roadmaps for global payment processing, authorization optimization, alternative payment methods, and platform extensibility. This includes guiding high-availability system evolution, improving platform performance through data-driven experimentation, and ensuring resiliency, observability, and regulatory alignment across markets. The leader partners with engineering, risk, compliance, and commercial teams to deliver scalable, API-driven solutions for merchants, ISVs, and partners. This position influences senior stakeholders, drives cross-functional alignment, and fosters a collaborative, high-performing product organization in a dynamic environment.Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
- Establish a shared vision across the company for a portfolio of products, or platform products enabling development & scalability, with a deliberate and cohesive strategy.
- Leads product strategy development, and develops a clear, executable view of the product portfolio strategy with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Shapes the architectural roadmap and balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability.
- Champions the customer experience and prioritizes customer needs in product requirements and decision making.
- Defines and uses metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis.
- Standardizes workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Responsible for product portfolio profitability, including budgetary decisions.
- Leads operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews. Interfaces with senior leadership as needed.
- Maximizes efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the standard.
Expected Qualifications:
- 12+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Drive technical product strategy for PPCP capabilities including payments orchestration, tokenization, wallets, APM integrations, authorization routing, and service resiliency.
Define platform architecture requirements in partnership with engineering, focusing on scalability, fault tolerance, and API performance.
Lead optimization initiatives using experimentation frameworks, telemetry, and machine-learning-driven insights to improve authorization and conversion rates.
Oversee launch and operationalization of new monetization models, value-added services, and partner-facing platform extensions.
Collaborate with global compliance, risk, and regulatory teams to ensure platform alignment with market-specific frameworks and industry standards.
Represent PPCP product strategy with executive stakeholders, key merchants, ISVs, and ecosystem partners to inform roadmap and prioritization.
Build, mentor, and develop high-performing product teams, fostering leadership strength, accountability, and domain expertise across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep expertise in large-scale payments infrastructure, payment routing, real-time processing systems, and global payment network dynamics.
Experience architecting or scaling API-first platforms serving enterprise merchants or SaaS ecosystems.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, observability practices, and performance engineering principles.
Background in embedded payments or platform-based partner integrations.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical domain details into long-term product strategy and measurable outcomes.
MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
