Overview

This role will support the Head of Strategy for HCM Mid-Market and help manage both the strategic development and execution of various initiatives and projects to support the on-going iteration of Paychex’s product and service strategy. The Market Team/Business Unit collaborates with peers across the organization, including Sales, Service, Commercialization, Marketing, Legal, and Revenue Operations. The corporate goals and objectives of our sales and service organizations are of focal points of for the role and lead to the prioritization process of initiatives the team undertake and lead.

This individual will be responsible for supporting various initiatives and projects that require analytical skills to drive data-decision making to support strategic recommendations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and measure results. The ability to story-tell and present the findings in a professional and compelling manner is critical towards influencing stakeholders and achieving alignment from stakeholders. Ideally, the person is willing to challenge the current practices and or norms in the pursuit of improving the value proposition of Paychex’s solutions.

Responsibilities

    • Assist in strategy development by analyzing sales and service KPIs, competitor insights, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Access and analyze data on sales performance, including bundle mix, attach rates, revenue leakage, and Revenue Per Unit (RPU) to recommend pricing and promotion strategies.

  • Analyze deals to assess gross margins and ROI thresholds.

  • Analyze terminated clients and develop strategies to enhance Lifetime Value (LTV) through upsell and migration plans.

  • Create reports tracking KPIs to drive sales and service performance and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Leverage competitors' products, pricing, and market trends to identify opportunities for differentiation, disruption, and new revenue streams.

  • Explore avenues for product diversification, upselling, cross-selling, and new market entry to boost revenue.

  • Analyze product performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maximize revenue to ensure profitability.

  • Develop tactics to retain customers, reduce churn, and enhance satisfaction for long-term growth.

  • Understand client needs and pain points through market research, customer interaction, and collaboration with sales and support teams to gather insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Finance or IT - Preferred
  • Master's Degree in MBA or equivalent business experience
  • Preferred
  • 7 years of experience in Sales, Product, or Service/Operations with experience leading cross-functional strategies.
  • 4 years of experience in Management experience.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with commercial and operations teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SQL, Alteryx, predictive modeling in SAS, Python, R.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $104,554.55 - $164,300.00 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
