Sr Consumer Protection Compliance Analyst

Overview
Provides expert compliance support to internal business partners. Ensures timely and accurate problem resolution while mitigating risk exposure.
Responsibilities Please note - The focus of the role is consumer protection, including business-to-consumer implications supporting the Perks partnership, PEO client employee compliance issues, and regulations such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, CAN-SPAM, Americans with Disabilities Act, Do Not Contact requirements, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices (UDAP), and associated privacy obligations.It involves analyzing and interpreting large, complex legislative and regulatory materials, converting them into actionable compliance insights, and leading the development of a scalable, defensible compliance program. This position will be part of the Compliance Risk Research Center of Excellence.
- Serves as enterprise-level subject matter expert on assigned Paychex products and services, including laws/regulations, enacted and proposed legislation, official guidance, trends, and industry best practices applicable to assigned area of responsibility. Partners with and makes recommendations to Compliance leadership and senior business management to ensure compliance with pertinent federal, state, local, and international regulatory requirements and company policies. Maintains strategic knowledge of Paychex products and services outside of area of primary expertise.
- Develops and maintains constructive, influential relationships with internal and external business partners to ensure compliance needs are properly communicated and executed, as well as to minimize impact/cost of compliance to Paychex. Takes a leadership role in the management of the company’s relationships with external regulators and agencies, vendors, and other key parties. Represents the company, as needed, on industry groups/coalitions.
- Works closely with the Compliance Director and the other members of the Compliance and Paychex leadership teams to lead the formulation of department policies, strategic plans, and standards in carrying out the objectives of the Paychex Compliance function.
- Manages complex compliance projects and engages business partners for participation as needed to support and drive strategic business initiatives. Represents Compliance on project teams as an independent decision maker to assist in answering questions on regulatory/legislative implications and to provide strategic direction to project teams.
- Conducts research on complex compliance risk-centric issues impacting Paychex products and services, including proactive identification of regulatory and legislative developments which may provide business opportunity or challenges to the company, to support stakeholders in strategic business decisions. Recommends changes to products or services based on research and analysis. Collaborates with business partners regarding long-term strategies and roadmaps by applying comprehensive knowledge of regulatory concepts, principles and practices.
- Provides actionable, comprehensive risk analysis on complex regulatory and other compliance matters to internal partners where necessary and as requested. Proactively prepares regular gap and other needs-based analysis and provides risk mitigation measures.
- Assesses and manages compliance implications of potential acquisitions, new products and product enhancements, advertising/marketing/training materials, and other corporate strategic initiatives to ensure compliance objectives are achieved.
- Creates and/or reviews opportunities for business partner continuous learning through compliance alerts, weekly letters, webinars, training sessions, and newsletters.
- Conducts and/or participates in outside and inside speaking engagements and educational presentations on regulatory and legislative matters in support of the goals of the Compliance Department and Paychex overall.
- Facilitates the distribution of team member workload assignments, providing oversight and guidance through task completion.
- Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position’s function.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $85,900 - $135,000 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
