Overview:

CBS News Miami is seeking a dynamic, multi-skilled producer to create and maintain content across digital platforms, with a primary emphasis on our 24/7 streaming channel. This role requires close coordination with the assignment desk, senior managers, reporters, and broadcast producers to help boost viewership and enhance user experience across OTT, desktop, and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Respond to breaking news with a fast-paced, decisive mindset
• Be present in the control room for live coverage of events, newscasts, and breaking news
• Exercise editorial judgment in the selection of content
• Produce live or pre-taped segments, as needed
• Develop fluency in the technical framework behind the stream; navigate and troubleshoot as needed
• Create and maintain the “programming wheel”; understand timing to ensure accuracy and consistency among hours
• Write and edit original and updated content for the stream
• Execute stream-only programming with ease, including pressers and other live events
• Assist in producing content for other digital platforms, including web and social
• Adapt quickly to changing workflows, tools and editorial priorities
• Use audience metrics and performance data to inform content and programming decisions

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience producing broadcast and/or streaming content
• Comfortable working in the control room, especially during breaking news
• Basic video editing skills
• Availability to work early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends and holidays
• Maintain CBS News editorial standards, accuracy, and ethical guidelines across all platforms

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, and react quickly to breaking news
• Strong editorial judgement, attention to detail, and communication skills
• Effective time management skills
• Familiarity with i News and various streaming systems
• Social media experience
• Understanding of SEO strategy and YouTube
