We are looking for a solid Fullstack Developer for the Membership squad who is passionate about building best-in-class web applications and services that are reliable, performant, scalable and will reach our customers in 100+ countries. This person understands the challenges that come with scale as well as the craftsmanship that goes into making individual features delightful.

The ideal candidate wants to understand our users and listen to their needs, and is passionate about creating the best user experience to connect more people with our products. Your current experience might lean more heavily towards either front-end or backend - key is to be open to broadening your skills on the spectrum.

As part of Oura’s Commerce mission, the Membership squad owns the end-to-end membership experience – from sign-up and trials to renewals, upgrades, cancellations, and payment handling across all channels. We design, build, and operate the backend services and user-facing flows that make it easy and reliable for millions of members to access everything Oura Membership provides, while enabling experiments in pricing, packaging, and promotions. As a Fullstack Engineer on the team, you’ll work across our web UIs and cloud services to ship secure, resilient subscription features that directly impact revenue and member retention.

What you will do

  • Work closely with Membership Product Manager to scope, design and implement new products and features that work at scale and across browsers

  • Demonstrate solid understanding of best practices and up-to-date knowledge software engineering specifically in your core domain, and learn from others in the team

  • Write testable and well-documented frontend code

  • Be comfortable working with a distributed, diverse and talented group of team members

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • 4+ years of practical development experience, preferably some of it in full-stack capacity

  • Solid programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and can write high-quality code with automated tests

  • Familiarity with many of the following technologies:

  • Frontend: Modern front-end frameworks, such as React, and modern state management

  • Backend: Node, Express, GraphQL

  • Infrastructure: AWS, CDK

  • Keen eye for detail, delivering thought out and well functioning product features

  • A pragmatic entrepreneurial attitude and delivery-focused mindset: you can handle tradeoffs between short-term goals and long-term tech debts

  • Team-oriented mindset and enjoy working in a diverse environment with distributed teams

  • Affinity for automating busywork and fixing problems at the root

  • Possibly experience running, monitoring and debugging production systems at scale on AWS a plus
