About the role
As a Facilities Operations Technician V– General, you will lead and guide the reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance of mission-critical facility systems within hyperscale data centers. In this role, you will apply advanced technical expertise to solve complex issues, support high-impact events, and help guide upgrades, standards, and operational improvements that protect uptime.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $87,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Eligibility and Location Requirements
This position requires U.S. citizenship and is located onsite in Saline, Michigan. Relocation assistance may be available in accordance with Oracle's relocation policies.
Key Responsibilities

Lead troubleshooting, incident investigations, and root cause analysis for high-impact or recurring issues affecting critical facility systems.

Support and improve standards, procedures, and operational practices across electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, and supporting infrastructure.

Provide technical guidance for upgrades, retrofits, expansions, major maintenance, and commissioning support activities.

Partner with site operations teams to improve maintainability, safe execution of work, and documentation quality, including procedures, drawings, one-lines, settings, and test plans.

Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as vendors, service providers, engineering teams, and construction partners, to ensure reliable and consistent operational outcomes.

Review technical documentation and help ensure consistent execution and technical quality across sites.

Mentor less experienced technicians and help strengthen technical capability, troubleshooting rigor, and execution discipline across the team.
Ideal Candidate Profile
-
Extensive experience with mission-critical facility systems in data centers, industrial environments, utilities, healthcare, manufacturing, or other high-availability operations.

Strong understanding of one or more major infrastructure domains, such as electrical distribution, mechanical cooling, controls systems, or integrated facility operations.

Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical work and support critical operational decisions.

Advanced trade qualification, technical certification, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies

Preferred Skills / Certifications

Deep experience with critical infrastructure systems such as switchgear, UPS, generators, cooling systems, BMS/EPMS, controls platforms, or integrated facility support systems.

Experience reviewing operating procedures, commissioning plans, maintenance strategies, incident response documentation, and system performance trends.

Ability to mentor less experienced technicians and support technical development across the team.

Journeyman or Master Electrician license, advanced HVAC/mechanical credential, or equivalent trade qualification where applicable.

NFPA 70E training and strong safety background preferred.
-
EPA Section 608 Certification preferred where refrigerant-handling responsibilities apply.

OEM or manufacturer certifications/training on critical power systems, HVAC infrastructure, controls platforms, or building systems strongly preferred.

Schneider Electric, Eaton, ABB, Siemens, Vertiv, Johnson Controls, Trane, Honeywell, or similar advanced equipment training is a plus.

NICET or similar power systems, controls, or technical testing certification is a plus where relevant to the role.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
This is a mission-critical role supporting 24/7 operations where 100% uptime is essential; as such, regular attendance and flexibility for shift-based schedules are required. To perform these duties, you must be able to frequently walk, bend, kneel, crouch, push/pull objects, and climb stairs. You will be required to lift or move up to 39 pounds independently and participate in group lifts for loads 40 pounds or greater. Additionally, you must be capable of maintaining balance while working from a ladder or elevated platforms. These tasks are performed in an industrial environment and must be executed safely, with or without reasonable accommodation, to maintain the continuous health of the facility infrastructure.
