About the role

Build the Future of Healthcare Technology:

Oracle Health is modernizing one of the industry's largest healthcare platforms as we transition from legacy on-premises technologies to a modern, cloud-native architecture running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

We're looking for a Principal Software Architect who thrives in technical leadership. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys driving large engineering initiatives from concept through production, leading system design, mentoring engineers, and helping teams successfully modernize enterprise applications.

This role is ideal for someone who naturally takes ownership, drives execution without requiring day-to-day direction, and enjoys solving complex architecture and platform challenges.

As Oracle Health continues to embrace AI-first engineering, this role will play a key part in leveraging AI throughout the software development lifecycle while designing and integrating AI-powered capabilities primarily Large Language Models (LLMs) into our next-generation technology stack.

What You'll Do

  • Lead large-scale technical initiatives from requirements through production deployment.
  • Drive end-to-end ownership of complex engineering projects across multiple teams.
  • Design cloud-native architectures that leverage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services.
  • Lead modernization efforts migrating legacy Microsoft-based applications to modern Linux and container-based platforms.
  • Design scalable services using Kubernetes, Autonomous Database (ADB), Golden Gate, and other cloud-native technologies.
  • Partner with AI and engineering teams to introduce Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-powered capabilities into the platform, enabling intelligent workflows and next-generation user experiences.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle to accelerate design, implementation, code reviews, testing, and engineering productivity while maintaining high standards for software quality.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, TPMs, and Operations to deliver highly available production services.
  • Define technical strategy, architecture standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor technical leads and senior engineers through architecture reviews and design discussions.
  • Partner with DevOps teams to establish Infrastructure as Code, deployment automation, observability, logging, and operational excellence.
  • Help define production readiness, incident management standards, and on-call operational practices.
  • Guide engineering teams through architectural decisions while ensuring successful production delivery.
