About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD Designer/Drafter to support our Factory Machine Shop team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining and enhancing our state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment by producing accurate, detailed mechanical designs and drawings.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position works closely with designers, engineers, machinists, and facilities personnel to deliver efficient, manufacturable solutions with aggressive timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D mechanical models and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD 2025 or Fusion (Solid Works experience is a plus).
- Develop custom-designed components, assemblies, and associated documentation.
- Edit part and assembly features, configurations, and metadata.
- Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and part data.
- Evaluate production machinery and apply operational knowledge to design solutions.
- Apply creative and unique design techniques to meet functional and manufacturing requirements.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the machine shop and cross-functional teams including fabrication, assembly, engineering, and facilities.
- Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to produce efficient, manufacturable designs under tight deadlines.
- Manage drawing master lists, part databases, cost-saving initiatives, drawing packages, and photo documentation in compliance with document control standards.
