The position reports to the Vice President, Head of China Government Affairs, and works closely with China‑based teams and global headquarters.
What you’ll be doing:

-
Standards‑setting organizations and technical committees
-

-
Represent NVIDIA in policy dialogues, technical workshops, standards meetings, and industry forums, advocating for innovation‑friendly policies, interoperability, and responsible AI development.
-
Track political and regulatory developments affecting AI, digital infrastructure, and cloud computing; assess potential business impact; and provide timely insights and recommendations to senior leadership in China and at headquarters.
-
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—including Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Product, Business Units, and Industry Relations—to align government affairs initiatives with NVIDIA’s product roadmap and technology strategy.
-
Prepare high‑quality advocacy materials, including technical briefings, policy position papers, standards proposals, and regulatory submissions, tailored for policymakers and technical audiences.
-
Support and shape NVIDIA’s China technology policy strategy, strengthening the company’s reputation and credibility across government and technical communities.
-
Conduct in‑depth research and analysis on policy trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify risks and opportunities.
-
Manage and coordinate external consultants, policy advisors, and industry coalitions supporting NVIDIA’s engagement in China.
-
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, particularly on technical policy and standards‑related engagement.
What we need to see:
-
Master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Public Policy, Law, or a related field; advanced degree strongly preferred.
-
12–15+ overall years of experience in government affairs, public policy, technology policy, or standards‑related roles, preferably within a multinational technology company, industry association, or leading research institution.
-
Leadership experience (5+ years preferred) in managing complex policy initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration.
-
Strong technical foundation, with solid understanding of one or more of the following areas:
AI / machine learning systems and computing infrastructure
-
Cybersecurity frameworks and digital governance
-
Cloud computing and data center technologies
-
Open‑source ecosystems
-
Demonstrated experience in standards‑setting processes, including engagement with national and/or international technical committees.
-
Established network across government agencies, research institutes, and standards organizations in Beijing.
-
Deep knowledge of China’s regulatory and policy environment, particularly in AI, cybersecurity, data governance, and digital infrastructure.
-
Proven ability to influence policy outcomes through constructive engagement, coalition‑building, and credible technical advocacy.
-
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, persuasive policy language.
-
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset.
-
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
