What you will do in this role

In this role, you will serve as the senior Business Operations leader for the Amgen India (AIN) site, accountable for the integrated delivery of core operational capabilities including budget management, business analytics, and Source-to-Pay. You will act as the primary point of accountability for translating global business operations strategy into effective regional execution, while also elevating insights, innovation, and best practices from AIN to inform enterprise-level decision-making. As the Business Operations Site Lead, you will provide governance and leadership to ensure operational rigor, financial discipline, compliance, and scalability, partnering closely with global and regional leaders to align priorities, manage trade-offs, and drive outcomes that support Amgen’s strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Partners with senior leadership to shape and execute global business operations strategy, incorporating regional perspectives and capabilities.
• Translates enterprise objectives into regional operating plans, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
• Provides leadership oversight for regional budget planning, forecasting, and financial performance management.
• Ensures transparency and rigor in demand planning, cost management, and financial governance.
• Oversees delivery of business analytics, reporting, and insights to support strategic and operational decisions.
• Establishes consistent metrics, dashboards, and performance management practices aligned with global standards.
• Provides senior oversight across end-to-end Source-to-Pay capabilities, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
• Partners with procurement, finance, legal, and operations stakeholders to support evolving business needs.
• Identifies opportunities for process simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement.
• Leads, mentors, and develops management teams to build sustainable capabilities and succession plans.
• Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement aligned with Amgen values.

Qualifications

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge, or the equivalent.

Minimum Requirements

• Doctorate/ Master's degree with 18+yrs of Industrial experience.
• 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.
• Strong project management experience.
• Scientific technical expertise of specific function and/or business process/category

Preferred Requirements

• 18+ years work experience in life sciences field, Business Management, including 6 years of biopharmaceutical experience
• Advanced degree in either business, finance or life sciences
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends or discrepancies.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Evidence of strong project management skills
• Exceptional knowledge of document management applications and study planning tools (eg. Smart Sheet, Tableau, Veeva platform, etc)
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills
