The annual base salary for this position ranges from $198,500.00 in our lowest geographic market to $418,400.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join Nike’s North America Communications team—an organization built on sharp storytelling, cultural fluency, and powerful relationships. This role reports to the VP, NA Communications and leads a three‑person media relations team in Los Angeles. You’ll partner closely with Global and Geo Brand Communications, Geo Consumer Media teams across NYC, London & Shanghai, Sports Marketing, Global Corporate Media Relations and key external creators, influencers, agencies, and media.

They know how to shape a vision, rally teams, and craft narratives that move globally with speed and clarity.They are a connector—globally minded, culturally attuned, strategically sharp, and energized by building something new.
Required Skills:
- Open to work in Los Angeles, CA.
- 10–15 years of experience leading media relations, communications, or related functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
- Demonstrated background in communications, media strategy, relationship management, narrative development, and leading high‑performing teams.
- Experience partnering with and managing agencies; deep LA media and content‑creator networks and creative community; youth and relationships that will drive both earned media and social coverage and conversation.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You’ll build and activate Los Angeles as a cultural engine for the brand anchored in disruptive storytelling that will create and drive cultural impact and influence through an ecosystem of media, creators, sport, entertainment and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating outsized impact through elevating LA as a platform, not just a market, driving cultural impact through the power of sport to inspire youth
- Develops next generation of talent by building a deeply connected city team that transcends sport, culture and communities; creating relationships across influential audiences.
- Leads maximizing LA's cultural and sport capital as a key global media and creator hub; collaborating closely with global cultural cities (inc. NYC; London; Shanghai).
- Owns and drives compelling vision for the future of LA communications, culture and influencer relations to rally and energize the team.
- Accountable for empowering team to create content, moments, stunts, and programs that generate sustained earned and owned vitality.
- Is responsible for creating and activating franchises and programming that builds momentum and elevates storytelling
- Drives measurable KPIs of how attention and cultural relevance ultimately translate into business impact.
