The MDE (Manufacturing Development Engineering) team focuses on NPI mechanical assembly readiness. As a team, we support all products NVIDIA develops. Your contribution will be towards manufacturing DFA (Design for assembly) development and finding MFD (Manufacturing for design) solutions. Drive manufacturing feedback and implement industry standard to NVIDIA hardware engineering teams and CEM, focusing on detailed solutions to address DFA exceptions, prototyping, as well as fixture designs, starting from conception phase, through new product introduction (NPI) to mass production. Engage CEM early to study the design to develop manufacturing maturity at the same pace of product design
What you'll be doing:
Responsible for manufacturing (DFA) maturity development, perform detailed DFA analysis to reach system assembly process solutions
Responsible for NPI CEM readiness, including DFX (design for manufacturing, DFA, design for automation) as well as process qualifications, Work with CEM to establish manufacturing specifications
Develop mechanical assembly process, fixture and automation with CEM
Lead assembly fixture & jig development, assembly process step-by-step evaluation and validation, review CEM assembly readiness at each landmark, accountable for ensuring all manufacturing schedules to achieve NVIDIA business target, ultimately, SOL (Speed of Light)
Responsible for CEM technical performance in the area of system assembly that meets NVIDIA specifications and technology requirements, Evaluate tolerance capability to achieve assembly gap/step specifications
Handle NPI manufacturing assembly issues, such as cosmetic issues due to handling damages, supervise health of fleet and initiate investigation of issues, root cause product failures and drive corrective action
Recommend technology aids, product design changes and workspace layout modification to existing processes to achieve optimum quality and efficiency
System assembly automation analysis, time and motion study, cycle time reduction, Assembly waste reduction, cost optimization proposals
Develop and coordinate schedules, performance requirements, lead all aspects of project management process and develop missing or unclear processes to ensure the best methodology and to keep project on schedule and on budget
