This position is an individual contributor position, representing the Operations team and collaborating with product marketing, industrial design, engineering and vendors to lead packaging mechanical structure design and manufacturing maturity development. The candidate is expected to provide technical expertise and leadership throughout the product lifecycle, drive manufacturing feedback to improve packaging supply robustness, support new product introduction and supply chain optimization. The position is located in Taiwan.
What you will be doing:

Lead packaging mechanical structure design during product development, ensuring reliability, performance, and material optimization.
-
Resolve design, validation, and production issues; identify yield improvement opportunities and establish quality standards.
-
Drive Taiwan-based packaging vendors and contract manufacturers to meet corporate standards; review manufacturability readiness at key milestones.
-
Provide on-site packaging consultation and technical support to contract manufacturers.
-
Enable packaging process automation across vendors and manufacturing partners.
-
Ensure total packaging solutions meet objectives across protection, aesthetics, user experience, sustainability, cost, quality, and schedule.

Monitor and drive Packaging Development Engineering KPIs to ensure program execution excellence.
-
Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance packaging standards; manage PLM release, technical change reviews, second-source expansion, and EOL replacement qualification.
What we need to see:
-
Bachelor's degree or higher in Packaging Engineering or a related field with equivalent experience, and 8+ years of relevant work experience in packaging commodity engineering, encompassing both electronic retail packaging design and datacenter protection industrial packaging design.

Self-motivated and proactive with strong leadership and management abilities, fostering a culture of continuous learning, ongoing process improvement, and a first-principles approach to problem-solving.

Experience in using 2D Artios CAD or 3D NX/Solid Works/Creo applications.
-
Comprehensive understanding of product fragility, cosmetic protection, package testing, data reporting, and analysis.
-
Understanding of DFM, tooling design, manufacturing processes, line qualification, CP/CPK, tolerance stack up analysis, and the various materials (paper, molded fiber, corrugated, rigid box, wood crates, foam, film, thermoformed tray, etc).

Extensive experience managing multiple packaging projects in cross-functional settings, with expertise in sustainable packaging design methods and materials.

Strong communication skills required, with fluency in both Mandarin and English.

Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and communicate complex ideas in ambiguous environments.

Packaging automation experience, GD&T, team management experience is a plus.

Proven track record of delivering products from concept through launch, with strong ownership in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Solid understanding of NPI processes, including collaboration with operations on manufacturing, quality, RMA, and EOL.

Highly proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving, prioritization, and conflict resolution skills; able to manage multiple parallel tasks effectively.

Experience in packaging automation and continuous process improvement.

Team management experience with ability to lead and perform in dynamic, innovative environments.
