Jobs
NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology—and amazing people. Today, we’re tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in a diverse, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how you can make a lasting impact on the world.
Our physical AI team is building groundbreaking platforms spanning automotive autonomous driving and humanoid robotics. As a Senior SOC Product Architect for Physical AI Platforms you will define the SoC architecture for embedded computer vision and AI systems that power next-generation production vehicles and humanoids. Your work will span NVIDIA’s physical AI computing devices and systems. You will collaborate with leading OEMs and Tier 1s to convert real-world AI requirements in driving and robotics into scalable, safe, and efficient compute platforms. This role is both highly technical with high visibility, with impact spanning product roadmap, customer design wins, and industry direction.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Lead the end-to-end SOC product architecture for physical AI systems from sensors through actuation and in-vehicle/edge/cloud integration.
-
Perform detailed use-case and workload analysis; map requirements into new hardware features and software capabilities needed to close gaps.
-
Define system requirements and platform configurations, and drive recommendations into the SoC roadmap and product software roadmap.
-
Lead deep benchmarking and competitive analysis of physical AI systems, including performance, perf/W, cost, and scalability, to advise product positioning and customer proposals.
-
Present deeply technical content to customers and internal leadership, articulating architectural tradeoffs, safety concepts, and roadmap proposals to both expert and non-expert audiences.
-
Build clear written engineering specifications and technical documentation for customers and internal engineering teams, including requirements, interface definitions, and configuration guidelines.
-
Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the physical AI organization (automotive and humanoid robotics), setting the standard on system architecture practices, reviews, and design methodologies globally.
What we need to see:
-
MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
-
25+ years of relevant experience in ADAS/autonomous driving, automotive embedded systems, humanoid robotics, or closely related physical AI domains, including significant time as a system or product architect for production automotive platforms.
-
Proven experience architecting embedded SoC- or GPU-based platforms for automotive perception and AD, including mapping modern convolutional and transformer-based neural networks across GPU/DLA/NPU/ISP and other accelerators.
-
Hands-on familiarity with modern LLMs, VLMs, and VLAs for physical AI, including sensor (camera, radar, lidar) data flow, pre-/post-processing, and optimization for embedded inference.
-
Demonstrated experience applying ISO 26262 functional safety and SOTIF ISO/PAS 21448 system safety to real programs, from concept and safety architecture through implementation and validation.
-
Extensive experience influencing hardware and software roadmaps and driving decisions across architecture, silicon design, software, safety, and product teams.
-
Evidence of industry impact, such as leading major OEM/Tier 1 design wins, defining reference architectures used broadly in the market, publishing technical work, or contributing to standards/industry bodies.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
-
Direct experience with high-performance automotive So Cs, including bring-up and optimization of automated driving stacks.
-
Leadership of architectures that use multi-sensor fusion and end-to-end / transformer-based models for world modeling and motion planning in production or advanced development programs.
-
Deep involvement in ADAS/AD safety and regulatory frameworks, such as Euro NCAP, NCAP protocols, or OEM-specific safety concepts for L2–L4 systems.
-
Prior role as a visible technical evangelist for physical AI (automotive compute, autonomous driving, and/or humanoid robotics), for example through conference talks, key customer workshops, whitepapers, or industry consortia.
