Simulations are being reinvented in the face of AI. Handcrafted game-engine simulators are giving way to neural simulation — data-driven scene reconstruction and AI-generated environments that make it possible to test and train driving and robotics at a fidelity and scale that wasn't previously achievable. NVIDIA's Alpa Dreams model and Alpa Sim stack are the beginning of redefining the baseline for next-generation simulation.
We are seeking an engineering leader to help productization of these amazing technologies. You will form a team, take the ground breaking research in neural rendering, simulation, and learning, and harden it into a robust, modular, production-quality platform. This role lives at the boundary between research and production — you need enough technical depth to evaluate what's coming out of research, and the execution chops to platform developers can depend upon.
You'll work alongside extraordinary research teams and NVIDIA leadership. If turning breakthrough research into something developers rely on every day sounds like the best job you can envision, we'd love to talk.
What you'll be doing:

Establish Alpasim and Alpa Dreams as the open-source standard for neural simulation in AV, and scale the team and community to get there

Take the latest research in neural rendering, simulation, and learning and work it into a modular architecture that supports fast exploration of this space

Own product and engineering excellence — performance, scalability, reliability, developer experience, CI/CD, release management

Partner with research teams to translate breakthroughs into production-ready platform capabilities

Drive the research-to-production pipeline: take fragile prototypes and ship them as things developers can depend on
What we need to see:

Outstanding track record of contributions to the Graphics, Simulation, Robotics, Machine Learning or AV fields

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

12+ years experience, 6+ years leading teams

Track record of taking research-stage systems and shipping them as robust, scalable products
-
Strong understanding of ML frameworks, distributed systems, and production infrastructure
-
Results-focused leadership -- you build the process, hit the dates, and hold the quality bar
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Have you worked on neural rendering, differentiable simulation, or generative world models? Have you built developer ecosystems or research communities around open-source projects? Direct experience with AV simulation platforms like CARLA, Applied Intuition, dSPACE, or internal OEM tools is a huge plus. So is experience across the AV ecosystem -- OEMs, Tier-1s, startups, research labs -- and understanding what they actually need from a simulation platform.
