Child Life Assistant

Job Description:

Assists child life staff in providing psycho-social support, developmentally appropriate play and activities, and playroom supervision for patients and families to help foster a positive hospital experience.

Job Responsibility

• Coordinates playroom activities and playroom orientation for patients and family.

• Creates and maintains a welcoming and emotionally and physically safe environment.

• Sets-up, organizes and maintains activity areas.

• Provides opportunities to play, learn, and interact with others.

• Offers support to family members to assist with their adaptation to health-care experiences.

• Enables patient/family to make choices and decisions to maximize feelings of control when in the playroom.

• Guides volunteers in providing a playroom experience that is developmentally appropriate and safe.

Job Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• 0-1 years of relevant experience, required.

• Experience working in pediatrics
