This position is a dual-hat position requiring the candidate to perform functional management activities as well as program responsibilities. It is expected that the Functional management role will comprise up to 20% of the candidate's time. The candidate will have 80% technical responsibilities: supporting SDS programs as an engineer within their same function. Candidate will act across multiple organizations to drive execution.
As a Functional Manager, you will be required to provide a wide range of people leadership/mentoring activities and foster a culture that allows employees to learn and grow. You will facilitate and execute the performance management cycle for your direct reports. This includes setting goals, mid and end-of-year reviews as well as performance evaluations and compensation. This role will also require you to mentor your direct reports and be their first line of contact for career growth, training, and certifications funding, stretch assignments, etc.
Essential Functions you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Promotes the professional development of the Homeroom workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement.
Manages and guides direct report annual goals, performance evaluations and compensations reviews.
Ensures accurate time charging and timecard approvals.
Manages conflict resolution, performance issues and improvement plans.
Mentors career growth for team of direct reports.
Aligns direct reports to technical roles based on program needs.
- Helps identify stretch assignments and opportunities
- Works as the integration lead for all elements across the weapon system that interact with LGC Specific Hardware.
As a Technical Manager (Flight Systems Missile IA&T Manager) you will be required to support the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Integration, Assembly, Test and Checkout (IAT&C) Segment to clearly identify and focus on ground and flight test requirements, development, interface design, testability, verification, and validation. The Flight Systems Missile IAT&C Manager will be responsible for the overall test and checkout and delivery of the missile to include requirements, test planning, test execution of all Ground Test and Flight Test Missiles and Product Support Equipment required to execute. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must be a driver and leader for collaboration across many different sub-IPT teams for a successful integration, test, and checkout of the missile buildup.

Responsible for the overall test and checkout and delivery of the missile to include requirements, test planning, test execution of all Ground Test and Flight Test Missiles and Product Support Equipment required to execute. Lead the test execution team in the development of test plan and procedure documentation, assembly, and checkout procedures, and be the primary point of contact for coordination with the System Test Team for system level test execution.

Responsible to serve as technical expert for electrical and mechanical support equipment design to include Electronic Ground Support Equipment, hardware working stands, lift fixtures, cooling systems, electrical interfaces, cable design, and similar equipment.

Will be a primary point of contact for internal and USG customer interaction and coordination and a representative of the flight systems test

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications
Bachelors degree with 8 years of related work experience: or Masters and 6 years of related experience
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Experience in integration and test
Prior HW/SW integration experience
CAM/EVMS Experience:
Prior Electrical Ground Support Equipment Design experience
Experience in design, develop, integrate, and test a variety of missile and missile parts
Experience supporting US Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification
Previous ICBM Experience:
Experience with developing/leading technologies and integrating them into aerospace vehicle systems for defense applications
Experience with aerodynamic performance of missiles and construction of materials
Understanding of aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and control
Flight Test Instrumentation design/development experience
Electrical component test development/test set development experience
Experience coordinating and leading integrated testing activities with multiple test teams
Knowledge of system integration and test principles and test plan development at any level of build (unit, sub-system, system, etc.)
2 years of demonstrated experience in system integration and test principles and processes including developing test plans and procedures
Knowledge and experience using CAMEO and/or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Principles
Experience using DOORS Requirements Management Database:
Experience with Agile:
Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal
- Experience in a formal lead/management position, leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either a project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
