Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer Mission Assurance located in our San Diego, CA Rancho Carmel facility!

What you'll get to do:

• Define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs.
• Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.

The ideal candidate must be familiar with project management and be able to work in a fast-paced team environment that builds and executes strategies that result in sustainable value creation. This is not a remote position.

Basic Qualifications for the Sr.

Principal Engineer Mission Assurance:

• Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 6 years of relevant experience.

• Experience interfacing with suppliers, customers, work associates/teams, and/or management.

• Experience with Quality Management System.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

• US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or a Master's Degree in a STEM related discipline.

• Experience with quality engineering, inspection methods, production control, manufacturing operations, product test & evaluation, reliability, root cause analysis, defect analysis, control of nonconforming material, product sell off, shipping and product support as they apply to quality.

• PMP certification or experience.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite skills

• Project Management

• Experience with FAI (First Article Inspection)

• Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification and/or experience to help drive continuous improvement.

• CAM/Earned Value certification/experience

• Active Secret Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
