As a Technical Director - 1 for the Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Central Region Engineering Software, Electronics, and Payloads. The preferred location for this role is Huntsville, AL. May consider one of the following major Space sector locations: Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Apply strong depth of knowledge in Missile Defense Systems to manage the technical baseline for the program

Assist the Prime Contractor in management of the day-to-day operations of the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT)

Oversee the implementation of project processes to include planning, risk management, integration, and scope control

Leadership of NG personnel and subcontractors on the program ensuring they are appropriately resourced to provide engineering excellence

Collaborate with the government customer at the Senior Executive Service level and with teammates across the MDNT

Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (STEM) with 12 years of progressive technical experience in engineering
  • OR - Master's degree with 10 years of progressive technical experience in engineering
  • OR - PhD with 8 years of progressive technical experience in engineering

Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope

Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance

Effective in customer relations, expectation management, and building coalitions with customers, government staff, and other contractors

Technical leadership experience including the ability to lead highly skilled teams

Experience in developing and modernizing large-scale C4 systems

5+ years of technical leadership experience as an IPT lead, Chief Engineer, or Architect

Experience leading the development of cost and technical proposals

Ability to apply Agile and DevOps methodologies:

Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in a STEM related field.

Active or current TS/SCI security clearance

Extensive experience with BMDS systems and interactions between the Elements that make up the BMDS

Experience with MDA/CR and MDA/BC leadership as well with other MDA 2-letters.

  • Knowledge of MDNTB structure and leadership

Primary Level Salary Range: $185,400.00 - $292,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
