Major Duties
The Network Management Team Manager of the Analytics Team is responsible for the end‑to‑end ownership and delivery of analytics‑driven oversight across Northern Trust’s global network of sub‑custodians, resiliency custodians, and Nostro/Banking providers.
This leadership role ensures operational excellence, robust risk management, and high‑quality delivery of due diligence outputs that support the firm’s asset servicing strategy.
The manager will take ownership of analytics frameworks, lead the delivery and drive continuous improvement across processes, tools, and engagement models with both internal stakeholders and external market providers. Such relationships will include the Network Management global country manager team members and our external sub-custodian and banking relationships.
Responsibilities
General Management Functions
- Serve as manager for the dedicated analytics team and ensure all Northern Trust managerial responsibilities are fulfilled.
- Makes staffing decisions and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities.
- Objective setting, development and coaching.
- Team ownership and accountability for key deliverables.
Operational & Process Ownership
- Assumes the risk ownership, governance, and external accountability the Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) and related task
- Oversee the full lifecycle delivery of the DDQ review process for all sub‑custodian and banking provider relationships.
- Responsible for ensuring that all operational, risk, and service assessments are completed accurately, on time, and to required standards.
Analytics Leadership & Insight Delivery
- Lead the delivery of data‑driven insights, using analytics to assess provider service capabilities, identify risks, and highlight improvement opportunities.
- Ensure insights produced by the team are consistently reliable, timely, and aligned with regulatory, operational, and business needs
Risk Management & Governance
- Own the delivery of Network Management’s input into Due Diligence Risk Assessments (DDRA), ensuring high‑quality analysis and full compliance with internal frameworks.
- Responsible for escalating material risks and ensuring appropriate tracking, mitigation, and communication with stakeholders.
- Maintain strong governance over review cycles, documentation, and audit‑readiness activities.
- Ensuring team is working within the procedure and process frameworks
Stakeholder & Provider Engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for business units, providing clear ownership of responses, guidance, and interpretation of DDQ findings.
- Lead structured engagements with providers to ensure clarity, transparency, and follow‑through on issues or enhancement actions.
- Responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring alignment on expectations and outcomes.
Initiatives & Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement across review processes, analytics delivery, and provider management practices.
- Encourage the adoption of automation, enhanced tooling, and best‑practice methodologies.
Knowledge and Skills
- Previous management experience
- Strong background in custody operations, asset servicing, or securities services.
- Proven ability to take ownership of complex analytical processes and deliver high‑quality outputs.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management and controls within a financial or operational context.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise messages at all levels.
- Strong relationship‑building capabilities and experience engaging with providers and internal stakeholders.
- Highly organised, with a proactive, delivery‑focused mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in leading process improvements and operational enhancements.
- Self‑motivated team leader with strong problem‑solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning.
- 15+ years of overall industry experience
Experience: For internal applications - 3 years as Operations manager or equivalent level.
Prior people management experience required
2 years as VP
