Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to join our Corporate Functions HR team. This role will support our Finance and Credit organizations. You will have the opportunity to coach and consult with leaders at multiple levels to help them achieve their business strategies by focusing on employee engagement, talent management, organizational effectiveness, and more. This job is supported by the HR Director for Finance, Strategy, Legal and Credit. This is a Hybrid role based in Seattle, WA.
A day in the life...

Work across all levels of the organization, serve as a trusted partner to leadership, and operate proactively to bring Corporate HR priorities to life. Your business acumen, interpersonal skills, and ability to make data driven decisions and recommendations will be critical.

Partner with business leaders to identify and implement solutions that address key business priorities.

Shape, support, and execute the people plan to accelerate business performance.

Use external and internal insights, data, and trends to identify and help solve key people and business issues.

Lead talent management activities and workforce planning to ensure a strong pipeline of talent for the organization.

Guide labor budget planning and execution in close partnership with business leaders, Finance, and key cross‑functional partners.

Partner with COEs to implement HR programs and practices in a fast paced, complex, and matrixed business environment.

Deliver leadership coaching and guide team effectiveness efforts to accelerate organizational performance.

Support change management and employee engagement efforts.

Serve as a strategic thought partner to business leaders on organizational design and capability building.

Build strong, trust‑based relationships with business leaders across the organization.

7+ years directly applicable HR experience – partnering with business leaders to drive strategic and effective people outcomes
-
Experience in both an HR business partner role and specialist area preferred
-
Strong business and HR acumen with ability to consult effectively and influence at all organizational levels
-
Experience successfully leading change management efforts for organizations undergoing large scale transformation
-
Track record of successfully leading and delivering large, complex programs across multiple teams/organizations
-
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with an ability to apply quantitative analysis to HR outcomes and use data to influence and drive decisions
-
Experience partnering with business leaders to develop and implement effective organizational designs
-
Ability to partner across multiple teams within HR to deliver effective solutions
-
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
-
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
-
Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
-
Demonstrates curiosity and openness to AI‑enabled tools, proactively identifying opportunities where technology can enhance HR efficiency, decision‑making, and business results.
Location:
This is a hybrid role requiring the selected candidates to work on-site four (4) days per week and be located within a commutable distance of the Nordstrom corporate offices in Seattle, WA

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations.
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$131,500.00 - $210,500.00 Annual
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment. Interview attire - what do I wear?
I applied and have an interview to a local university. I was really surprised because as a DO and graduate of a not prestigious residency I didn't really think I would be considered. But it's happening. I don't really know if it's for me I just wanted a position where I can teach again. The pay seemed nice and it seems like a 4 day work week (details to be determined).
