This role operates at a strategic and hands-on technical level, influencing system architecture, product direction, and industry standards while serving as a senior subject-matter expert across the organization. The position requires deep expertise in translating system-level requirements into robust, industry-leading hardware designs and leading large, complex development initiatives with significant scope, risk, and impact.
- Deep expertise in hardware architecture, board‑level design, and system‑level integration for complex products.
- Proven experience leading large‑scale hardware product development in a global, matrix environment.
- Strong understanding of hardware/software co‑design and end‑to‑end system engineering.
- Advanced skills in design modeling, simulation, validation, and engineering analysis.
- Ability to solve highly complex, novel technical problems using analytical thinking and sound engineering judgment.
- Experience influencing architecture, roadmap, or technical strategy at organizational or product‑line level.
- Background in industry standards, technology consortia, or open hardware initiatives is strongly valued.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technical solutions to business and customer needs.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding senior engineers and cross‑functional teams.
- Clear, confident communicator with the credibility to represent Nokia internally and externally.
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex hardware platforms from concept through product delivery.
- Translate system‑level requirements, customer use cases, and business objectives into high‑quality hardware designs and prototypes.
- Drive large, cross‑functional product development programs with significant technical complexity, scale, and risk.
- Define hardware specifications, interfaces, and operating parameters, considering full system and hardware/software interactions.
- Coordinate and integrate multiple hardware components into complete, end‑to‑end solutions.
