The role holder will draw on other GMC teams, including media relations, internal communications, social, events, marketing strategy, technology marketing and partner marketing to deliver integrated, high-quality communications.
This role serves as the dedicated communications partner to the Chief Technology and AI Officer, providing senior counsel on positioning, messaging and stakeholder engagement. The role holder will bring a strategic lens to the Technology and AI organisation’s communications, shaping plans at the point of design and ensuring that Nokia’s technology story is told with the clarity and commercial relevance.
Given the pace and scale of change Nokia is navigating This role requires someone who is both a strategist and a practitioner with sufficient grounding in technology to engage credibly with the subject matter, and the communications expertise to translate it into narratives that resonate with key stakeholders.
You must have:
- Extensive senior communications experience, with a strong track record in technology communications within a global organisation or agency environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and sound judgement, with the ability to operate effectively in complex global environments.
- Sufficient grounding in technology, including AI, network infrastructure or related fields to engage credibly with subject matter experts and translate complex technical concepts into compelling external and internal narratives.
- Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communications strategies that span external, internal and executive communications, with a strong instinct for narrative coherence across a complex organisation.
- Strong experience as a senior communications partner to C-suite leaders, with the ability to act as a strategic sparring partner, challenging, advising and developing thinking, not just executing.
- A demonstrated commitment to integration and collaboration with the discipline to ensure communications plans connect with and reinforce the broader company narrative.
- Strong executive communications and content skills, with the ability to write compellingly across formats, from internal leadership messages to keynote speeches and external op-eds.
- A confident and proactive approach to AI: using AI to enhance research, accelerate content development, synthesise inputs and increase the overall quality and pace of communications work.
- The ability to operate as a senior individual contributor, setting strategy, influencing without authority and delivering personally where required.
It would be advantageous if you also had:
-
Familiarity with research communications, innovation storytelling or the positioning of R&D as a commercial differentiator.
-
Background in operating within a matrixed, functional communications model.
-
Experience managing communications around technology partnerships, ecosystem strategy or platform narratives.
-
Experience using AI tools to build content repositories, accelerate drafting workflows or support real-time communications planning.
-
Develop and own the integrated communications strategy for the Technology and AI organisation, aligned to Nokia’s overall narrative, the GMC priorities and business objectives.
-
Build and execute a forward-looking communications strategy that anticipates key technology milestones, research announcements, partnership moments and industry events, translating complex technical and strategic developments into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
-
Serve as the dedicated communications partner and strategic sparring partner to the Chief Technology and AI Officer, providing senior counsel on positioning, messaging, thought leadership and reputation.
-
Develop executive content for the CTAO across speeches, keynotes, op-eds, posts and internal communications, and prepare senior executives for high-profile engagements including media interviews, industry forums, analyst briefings and internal all-hands.
-
Own Nokia’s Bell Labs communications narrative, ensuring its research and innovation story is positioned as a competitive differentiator and integrated into Nokia’s broader technology and corporate messaging.
-
Ensure complete integration of Technology and AI communications into the Nokia master narrative and GMC strategy working in close alignment with peers to ensure technology stories reinforce and connect with Nokia’s overall positioning.
-
Operate within Nokia’s functional GMC model, drawing on other teams to help deliver the plan and setting clear briefs, priorities and quality standards.

So much for "Research Triangle Park". Also, I have no clue what my team is gonna be for On the other hand, I really liked the Nokia AI/ML team, we dis

Us treasury secretary bessent just did something that totally flipped out and sort of made me feel unwell.
https://youtu.be/zq_L011kMLs?si=3MzyYDx7SSbXUBPH Basically just saw this and almost gave me some sort of heart issue or fainting - seriously.
