Advanced Procurement teams, part of strategic sourcing, are the prime procurement responsible to the product management and engineering teams in the product groups. They are in charge, all along the product life cycle, to reduce product cost and risk, translate product requirements into negotiations inputs and objectives and to promote the preferred sourcing strategies.
Key for success is the early involvement in the product life cycle to anticipate in appropriate supplier and solution selection, and to create the largest negotiation margin.
Close cooperation with the central Product and EMS/ODM/OEM sourcing team is key in the total procurement offering to assure on-time delivery at minimum cost and increase negotiation leverage
The Advanced Procurement Manager works in close collaboration with:
- The Strategic Sourcing organization.
- The Business Line: management, cost improvement management, Product management, Engineering…
- The ODM and Resale Sourcing and Contracting team
- External suppliers
Profile:
The Advanced Procurement Manager must build up a strong relationship with Sourcing organizations worldwide and with the technical and Business Line environment and as such must have a solid technical background and excellent communication skills.
His/her main drives are the business objectives. Business and commercial attitude is a must.
He/she understands supply markets, the technicality of the Nokia products and the technology evolutions.

Education:

Engineering degree in electronics or similar preferred

Degree in business or commercial management is an advantage

Experience in access technologies is a plus

Fluent knowledge of English is a must.

Achieve the agreed procurement product cost objectives at product release and during deployment, translate product targets in component targets, set up and lead the action plans within Procurement and Sourcing to optimize cost, risks and time to market.

Seek for cost improvement opportunities related to new technologies, redesigns and alternative suppliers while keeping standardization/reuse objectives into account.

Secure the implementation of the corporate component commodity and supplier strategies during the product/solution development life cycle and control that the strategies are in line with the new projects needs.

Contribute and coordinate in product development make-buy decisions (own design, co-design, original design manufacturing (ODM)…)

Create and maintain the Product Procurement Plan for every project (HW and SW) in the product group he/she is taking care of during the product life cycle.

Bring visibility to Sourcing on the overall business needs and new Product & Solution Developments and roadmap.

Be the purchasing representative in the multifunctional product core team and project milestone review meetings.
