About the role

As part of the Core Network team, you will be responsible for ensuring high performance, availability, and reliability of the Core infrastructure within the Business Unit, covering both mobile and fixed networks. The role involves monitoring and analyzing network performance, configuring, testing, and maintaining core network equipment and related services, troubleshooting and resolving incidents, performing preventive maintenance and system optimization, and implementing standard configuration and hardware changes in the production environment. You will collaborate with operational experts and vendors for advanced troubleshooting, manage escalations toward external support teams, and contribute to service quality improvements through automation and development of monitoring tools and scripts.

  • Strong knowledge of 5G/4G/3G Core networks (Voice & Packet Core), VoLTE solutions, and network architecture.
  • Expert in Core IMS/VoLTE (Nokia CNCS: SCSF, TAS, A-SBC, MRF), DNS, S/P GW, MME, DRA/DEA, AAA, and 3G Core (MSS, MGW, HLR, S/G GSN) with solid understanding of registrars (HLR/HSS/UDR).
  • Skilled in end-to-end network troubleshooting, call flow tracing, and interface analysis (Gb, Gr, GTP, S6a, S5-S8, S13, S11, Gx, Gy, Rx, Gm).
  • Awareness of telecom evolution topics: Cloudification, VMware, Open Stack, Containerization, ZTS, and 5G architecture; prior 5G experience is a plus.
  • Linux proficiency with shell scripting knowledge; able to develop automation and tools; recognized as SME in own product/solution area.
  • Capable of providing end-to-end operational support, peer review, on-call duty across time zones, and coordination with all stakeholders
  • Ensures the network performance analysis are carried out and initiates the resolutions of the analysis.
  • Configure, test and maintain core network equipment and related services
  • Identifying, diagnosing and resolving network problems
  • Working with Operational skill center experts and vendors for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures.
  • Perform preventive actions and systems performance tuning
  • Accountable for standard operations and administration of core network infrastructure and services
  • Understanding affiliate network design and using the provided information to solve network issues
  • Follow-up and raise tickets towards Nokia CARE support.
  • Development of own monitoring tools, scripts for automation.
  • Implement standard configuration and hardware changes in the production environment
