About the role
Join our team as we continue to expand our product portfolio in the Data Center and Carrier Service Provider. The IP Routing Hardware organization is very flat - there are few levels of management between the Individual Contributor and the VP of Hardware. We are also very lean - each Hardware Engineer spends more time doing engineering work and less time on overhead. As a result, your work has high visibility, and your decisions directly impact product design.
- 7+ years experience working with highly complex, high density multilayer printed circuit boards
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting and sustaining such designs successfully through the entire product life cycle
- Knowledge of all aspects of the product design process, including FPGA’s, component qualification procedures and advanced trouble shooting techniques
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills along with a proven ability to work with a variety of diverse people over multiple time zones and continents to achieve a common goal
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience with stack-up design, signal integrity simulation, and power circuitry
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI/Safety and ITU/IEEE/Bellcore telecommunications standards
- Programming/Scripting ability (C/Python)
- Test and debug complex, multilayer printed circuit boards
- Provide engineering support (4LS) for hardware related field issues
- Provide engineering support for manufacturing test issues
- Resolve all field and factory issues quickly and professionally
- Provide product lifecycle support through bug fixes, enhancements and cost reductions
- Address component EOLs by qualifying alternative sources
- Verify PCB designs or components under thermal and environmental conditions
- Utilize factory and field metrics to detect hardware quality issues and work to resolve them
