You will be part of a team responsible for testing end-to-end (E2E) hardware and software features in 5G and 4G networks. In this role, you will validate new network functionalities across different domains, including software management, configuration management, hardware management, and call and traffic handling.
The focus is on ensuring that new features work correctly across the full network chain, from configuration and control to real traffic scenarios, in both manual and automated testing environments.
Duration: 6h or 8h/day
Period: July- August
Submission deadline: May, 6th
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program
- Applicants may apply to a maximum of 2 projects
- Understanding of network topology across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks
- Knowledge of manual and automated testing concepts
- Basic IP networking knowledge
- Interest in software and hardware validation in telecom systems
- Scripting or AI-assisted testing experience is a plus
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Execute manual and automated tests for new 5G/4G E2E hardware and software features
- Validate functionality across software, configuration, and hardware management domains
- Test call flows and traffic behavior in real network scenarios
- Analyze test results and identify issues or deviations in system behavior
- Support verification of feature integration across the full network stack
- Work with test environments representing multi-technology networks (2G/3G/4G/5G)
- Collaborate with teams to ensure correct feature implementation and stability

Trying to decide between Nokia (not Bell Labs) and IBM Research Triangle Park (Durham).
