The Applied R&D Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the specification, design, further development, and incremental improvement of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc. Integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies SW / HW / system components and capitalises on innovative solutions to meet particular requirements and specifications.

You Have:

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Engineering stream between 8-20 years of experience in the telecom broadband access domain, particularly in Fiber Transport and Layer 2 protocols.
• Proficiency in languages like C/C++, Java, Go, and JavaScript, enabling effective software development and testing.
• Experience with Optical Line Terminals (OLT) and fiber access technologies such as GPON and XGPON, including platform software and device drivers.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and perform software development lifecycle tasks efficiently.
• Experience in leading and guiding software development teams or mentoring junior engineers to success.

It would be nice if you also had:

• Understanding of Layer 2 protocols, including IGMP, PPPoE, and 802.1x, with hands-on experience.
• Solid understanding of the software testing lifecycle, with the ability to develop and execute rigorous test cases for network products.
