Since 1983, when it launched the Nintendo Entertainment System™, Nintendo has sold more than 4.7 billion video games and more than 740 million hardware units globally, including Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, as well as the Game Boy™, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS™ family of systems, Super NES™, Nintendo 64™, Nintendo Game Cube™, Wii™ and Wii U™ systems. It has also created industry icons that have become well-known, household names, such as Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Zelda and Pokémon. A wholly owned subsidiary, Nintendo Technology Development, based in Redmond, Washington, creates future hardware/software technology and researches North American-based technologies.

We are a small and dynamic software development group at Nintendo. We develop networking software for Nintendo's game systems, do research and prototyping, and develop networking tools and solutions. We are looking for a software engineer with a passion for networking technologies who is experienced with production-level software development. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, debugging, and testing of network related software. The candidate should have strong C/C++ programming and communications skills.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Development of network-related software, both proprietary and OSS.

  • Develop new features and protocols, perform performance analysis, optimize systems, maintain existing systems, write tests, and diagnose failures.

  • May take lead role of software components.

  • Review codes of others.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred.

  • 4 or more years of professional software development in C/C++ programming. Must be proficient with C.

  • Experience with multithreaded software development.

  • Strong data structures and algorithms knowledge.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Networking software development (L3 or above).

  • Development experience with OS/kernel internals and/or systems-like software.

  • Development experience with networking protocols or technologies such as SSL/TLS, HTTP, and socket APIs.

This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time.

This contract position includes the base pay range listed below and is eligible for benefits through the employing agency. Agency benefits include eligibility for medical insurance, employee assistance program, and paid sick leave. All benefits are subject to elections, eligibility requirements, plan and program terms. Benefits offerings will be confirmed at the time of offer by the employing agency, and may differ depending on the employing agency partner.

Pay range:$56.44—$101.59 USD
