WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role will report directly to the Senior Manager, Account Marketing Japan and be part of the Account Marketing Sporting Goods team. This team drives brand strength, fuels consumer demand, and builds long-term connections with consumers. They collaborate with Japan Marketing leaders, the Asia-Pacific Latin America (APLA) geography, and Global Brand Marketing teams to develop impactful strategies. Key internal partners include Retail Marketing, Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Sales, and Planning. Externally, they work with agencies, suppliers, and vendors to bring Nike’s vision to life.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike seeks a dynamic individual who elevates brand standards and delivers distinction across marketplace partner ecosystems. This person will activate seasonal campaigns in retail environments, ensuring each partner reflects Nike Sport and culture-through integrated account plans and compelling storytelling.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environment, values innovation, and champions inclusive thinking. A passion for sport, curiosity about consumer behavior, and belief in Nike’s brand vision are essential. Experience with Sporting Goods partners, in-store and online communication planning, seasonal execution, and account relationship management are critical.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in brand management, retail or digital marketing.
- Bachelor’s degree or anything equivalent.
- High interest or background in sport, youth culture, sneakers, fashion and streetwear trends.
- Project management experience managing agency partners, vendors and budgets.
- Strategic thinker and idea generator with excellent attention to detail.
- Analytical skills to gather business, consumer insights and apply learnings.
- Domestic travel required once per season; international travel may occur a few times per year depending on business needs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills (in both English and Japanese).
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You’ll extend, develop, and deliver Global/Geo directives, tools, and processes that power Nike’s end-to-end offense across the Sporting Goods channel. As part of the Retail Marketing team, you’ll shape channel strategies and program seasonal direction for retail partners.
- Contribute to channel strategies for Sporting Goods partners.
- Program seasonal marketing direction in collaboration with the Sporting Goods Sales team.
- Lead development of seasonal and non-seasonal marketing plans.
- Brief agencies and guide execution across Japan.
- Participate in weekly cross-functional exchanges to share ideas and best practices.
- Manage the annual marketing budget to optimize resources and ensure timely delivery.
- Measure success through Share of Business (SoB), revenue targets, and emotional consumer connection via Brand Strength Metrics (BSM).
